Dear Colleagues,

we cordially invite you to participate the 41th CIMUSET International Conference, that will take place from 6 to 12 June, 2011 in The Technical museum in Brno, Czech Republic.

The CIMUSET committee is not only dedicated to traditional museums of science and technology, largely historical and collection based, but also to contemporary science centers, working primarily to popularize and promote science and technology among children and young people all over the world.

The theme of the 41th CIMUSET International Conference is Technical Museums as Guardians and Educators. One of the subthemes, which will be the Conference focused on are: the role of the collections and individual objects of Technical Museums in a changing social environment, the museum and their visitors, challenges of the future – answers from the Museum, international

cooperation for better understanding and improving the image of science.

The CIMUSET International Conference is situated in Brno, after a successful event in Paris and Shanghai. Brno, the capital of the Moravia region, has a good location. It was the crossroad of many cultures for centuries and thus it has a rich history and culture. There is also a beautiful nature and pleasant climate, such as for wine growing. Brno is the cradle of modern and contemporary museums in Czech history. So far, about 20 museums of various specialties have set up within Brno.
