At ICOFOM, we are deeply committed to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusivity. It is essential for us to not only advocate for museum values in theory but to actively promote them in practice. With this in mind, we support the University of Leicester’s Research Centre for Museums and Galleries (RCMG) in their initiative to develop guidance on trans-inclusive practices in museums, galleries, and heritage organisations. We believe this guidance, shaped by the context of UK equalities legislation and with the collaboration of leading experts, holds significance for cultural organizations worldwide. We encourage its widespread use and commend RCMG for spearheading this vital initiative.
